Over 2 years have gone since the opening... what's been going on?

Some of you may not know this, but when Jordin Source opened on August 4th, 2007 we were J-Sparks. This is how it all began...

In the summer of 2007, three people named Veton, Nicole & Jeffrey started working on a Jordin Sparks fansite that was named J-Sparks. The site was temporarily on Freewebs before being picked up for a free hosting deal at Fanfilled.com. Fanfilled offered us a free domain name, we took it and became j-sparks.org.

The site was off to a slow start, with me (Veton) doing most of the updating since the other owners had several other projects in the running and didn't have much time for the site. This was the first fansite I'd ever done and I had no idea where to go to get information, news, photos and media! But as I kept learning and learning and updating and updating, the site began to grow in hits and daily visitors. Nicole and Jeffrey had to leave the site cause of lack of time but I managed to keep going by myself!

By 2008, the Jordin fan community (otherwise known as "Sparklers", "Sparkplugs", etc) started to visit J-Sparks daily in order to get the latest photos and info on what Jordin was doing! A friend, Ithiel, joined the site staff and became my new co-owner and helped me alot with updating.

The site kept growing and things were going smooth, but in early 2009 something went really wrong with our host Fanfilled's servers... and our site crashed. Not only our site crashed, but all of the 1000+ sites that were hosted on Fanfilled crashed aswell and many of the sites lost all of their files... including us.

This meant that we had to start all over. But a few days later, we were up and running as Jordin Source, hosted by ourselves and with our own new domain, JordinSparks.cc! It took alot of effort, patience and time to build up the site again. We had 22,000 photos in our gallery that just vanished with the server crash but we kept on updating with new photos and new information in order to keep our visitors happy! :) Unfortunately, Ithiel was going through some personal problems so he had to take a break from updating but there's always room for him to come back and update, so his name isn't going to be removed anywhere on the sidebar!

All of the time and effort that I had put into this site, finally payed off when in October 2009, I got to meet Jordin because of the site. She was coming to Sweden (where I live), and arranged for me to meet her backstage at Swedish Idol! But that's a completely different story, haha. Jordin Source has continued to be your #1 daily source for everything Jordin, and intends to be for a long time coming so stay with us!

We would also like to just say thank you to everyone that's been visiting the site and supporting it through all the good times and the bad times and the biggest thank you goes to Jordin Sparks, for being an absolutely phenomenal human being/singer/rolemodel and we will always stick with you! :)
